Welcome to our quickstart guide to property in Playa Honda, a bustling residential area located on the east coast of Lanzarote. The area enjoys a fabulous beach front promenade that stretches north to Arrecife and south to Matagorda and Puerto del Carmen. Furthermore, Playa Honda is home to Centro Comercial Deiland, one of the island’s largest shopping centres. What’s more, you’ll find a wide selection of services, shops, bars and restaurants. In particular, the choice of tapas bars and beachfront restaurants is great and this area is very popular with locals. The area is considered less tourist oriented than other areas. As a result, property prices here are more affordable as well.
All of this means of course that Playa Honda is a good area to relocate to for buyers looking for a year round home. And at prices that are lower than you can expect to find in the main tourist resorts. Also, there is a gorgeous beach in Playa Honda, offering several kilometres of golden sand. You will find windsurfers at the southern end on the section known as Playa de Guacimeta. Playa Honda is bordered by the more upmarket area of La Concha to the northeast and the airport to the southwest.
One bed apartments start from €100,000. While 2 bed apartments start from roughly from €140,000. Alternatively, you can find 2 bed duplexes starting from around €180,000. However, a large 3 bedroom townhouse can fetch anywhere from €200,000 to €300,000. Of course, these prices are guidelines, and prices will vary depending on location and condition.
And as would expect, frontline properties in good condition demand higher prices. As for villas with private pools, expect to pay from €400,000 and up. And if you venture in to the upmarket area of La Concha which lies at the northeast end of Playa Honda, you can expect to pay anywhere from €450,000 – €1m for a 4 bed villa with pool.
